Doughnut Worry, Be Happy

At the Itsa Girl Thing office we are blessed to have a team of cheerfully bright women and men working to support the brand.  Not only do we get the pleasure of being surrounded by colorful shirts and positive vibes all day, occasionally we get to enjoy a delicious treat from the Itsa Girl Thing accountant, Jane, but we might as well call her mom!

She's always filling everyone's bellies up with home-cooked meals. Just last week she made broccoli cheddar soup for the whole company. Yum! With her recipes comes staff favorites, and it's safe to say, we all enjoy Doughnut Days!

Just look at those beauties!
The great thing about these donuts is that they're SUPER simple. And when we say simple we mean we can answer calls from y'all, our wonderful custys, while making them. The trick is using store bought biscuit dough like Pillsbury.

Want to make the Itsa Girl Thing Doughnuts for your next brunch with the ladies? Follow our recipe for a guaranteed sweet success. Once you make them, be sure to share a photo of them on our Facebook Page!
Doughnuts
-1 can (7.5 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
     -vegetable oil for frying
Toppings
     -Cinnamon Sugar
          -1/2 cup sugar
          -1 tablespoon cinnamon
     -10x bag of powdered sugar

 Step 1

Separate dough into 10 biscuits; flatten each biscuit lightly with palm of hand. With 1-inch round biscuit or cookie cutter, cut hole in center of each biscuit.

 Step 2

In  a 12-inch skillet or 4-quart Dutch oven, heat 2 inches oil over medium-high heat to about 350ºF. Carefully fry biscuits about 30 seconds on each side or until golden brown. With slotted spoon or tongs, remove from oil; place on paper towels to cool.

 Step 3

Place warm doughnuts in a bowl of the powdered sugar or prepared cinnamon sugar to cover the doughnut completely.

Step 4

Indulge with your soft, fluffy semi-homemade doughnuts!

We're not quite sure what inspired Jane to
make our favorite doughnuts this week.
Maybe it was a celebration of Friday,
or maybe she was inspired by our
new Itsa Girl Thing Hungry Tee!

Either way, we like it all just the same!
